Ripley's House

House Colours: navy and light blue
House Emblem: lion
House Motto: Acta non verba – "Actions, not words"
House Hymn: I Hear Thy Welcome Voice
One of the two original Houses, Ripley's House was created in May, 1927, when boys moved into the new School (now called the Main Building). It was named after Alexander B. Ripley, who was its first Head of House. He was also the Head of School in 1926-1927, the school year when the original campus was lost to fire. The first location of Ripley's was the southwest wing of the Main Building. Ripley's remained in this location until the fall of 1983 when they moved into a new House built on the hill to the southwest of the Main Building, facing the lake.
