Renfrew House was established in 1996 to accommodate the increasing number of female students. It was located in a building nestled near Ripley’s and Lake’s Houses. Because it held only a small number of girls, Renfrew joined forces with School House for competitions. When School House girls moved out of the Main Building in 2007 to become Strathcona House girls, the vacated space was refilled with more girls, and dubbed "Renfrew North." In 2012, a new residence was built east of the Hugh Wilkinson Theatre – both Renfrew and Renfrew North girls under one roof!
