Class of 1977 Reunion

A group of nine Shawnigan Lake School old boys from the Class of 1977 gathered in Vancouver to honour a classmate, Ross Sterling, who recently passed away. For some in the group, it was the first reunion with classmates since graduation, so the gathering lasted very late into the night as the group shared over 47 years of stories, memories, and recollections.
 
Sasha Luchkov ’23 (Lonsdale’s), Concert for Peace



On April 12, 2024, Sasha Luchkov ’23 (Lonsdale’s) was a featured performer in the Concert of Peace at the Chan Centre for the Performing Arts on the campus of the University of British Columbia. Proceeds from the concert supported Thrive Refuge’s Fine Arts Bursary Program with the Immigration Services Society of British Columbia to provide fine arts education to incoming refugees.

Meghan Gillmore ’21 (Renfrew), UVIC Rookie of the Year



Meghan Gillmore ’21 (Renfrew) was recently named the 2024 Rookie of Year as part of the University of Victoria Vikes Varsity rowing crew.
 
Édouard Receveaux ’17 (Duxbury) wins silver in the Culinary Olympics



Édouard Receveaux ’17 (Duxbury) competed in the Culinary Olympics in Stuttgart, Germany in February 2024. Édouard was one of seven members on Team Canada and earned two silver medals.
 
Michael Kaye ’87 (Groves’), New Chief of the Saanich Fire Department



On February 1, 2024, Mike Kaye ’87 (Groves’) stepped into the role of Chief of the Saanich Fire Department. Mike has served with the department for the past 25 years and has held various positions. Mike is also the proud recipient of the Queen Elizabeth Diamond Jubilee Medal for community service and leadership.
 
Brian Scudamore ’88 (Copeman’s) is joining Dragons’ Den
Congratulations to Brian Scudamore ’88 (Copeman’s) who will be on Season 19 of CBC’s Dragons’ Den. Brian is the Founder & CEO of O2E Brands, the banner company for 1-800-GOT-JUNK?, WOW 1 DAY PAINTING, and Shack Shine. Read more about Brian here.
