Training on the Koksilah

It may not be picturesque outdoors weather, but Shawnigan's Search and Rescue Team continues to train in real-life situations.

Working primarily on the nearby Koksilah River, students have been working on injury and rescue scenarios for this term's sport option.

From packaging injuries to rappelling to swimming in white water, the activity forces young people outside of their comfort zones, in situations demanding teamwork and problem solving.

Many of these students will also take part in an overnight snow camping experience during ski week.
